Villa Kalia

Villa Kalia consists of three 3-bedroom villas and two honeymoon suites set amongst terraced rice fields on the outskirts of Ubud. The 3-bed villas can each sleep up to 7 guests, and the suites are designed for couples (plus one child), so we can accommodate from 2 to 25 guests in both comfort and privacy. Both suites and one of the 3-bedroom villas have private swimming pools, while the other 3-bedroom villas share a large pool located between them.

This brand-new, spacious villa complex offers the peace and tranquility of the 'real' Bali yet is less than 10 minutes drive from Ubud's cultural performances, shops, museums and gourmet restaurants. Villa Kalia uses only local labor, with a commitment to helping support the local community banjar, and a profit-sharing program that benefits the villa staff first and foremost.

For a relaxing stay 'away from it all' to enjoy a morning cup of coffee on your balcony as the sun lights up Gunung Agung, read a novel in your poolside gazebo, or explore the daily life of the Balinese in the nearby villages, Villa Kalia is your paradise.

Villa I consists of a new 3-bedroom villa with private pool. The 3-bedrooms can sleep up to 6 guests, plus one additional guest in the upstairs day-bed. Each of the bedrooms has a private bathroom attached, with an additional half-bathroom located next to the downstairs living room. There is a full kitchen, an outside dining area for 4, and a traditional inside dining area for 6 to 8 guests. A Balinese gazebo and chaise lounges are provided poolside. The villa design blends traditional Balinese styling with the desire for tropical outdoor living. There are overhead fans in every bedroom, living area and balcony. There are carved, open vents above each window that allow for a natural flow of air throughout the villa, yet the window and door screens keep out the unwanted insects that are common in other outdoor living villas. The altitude, fresh air flow from the volcanic highlands, and the rice field location combine with the overhead fans to create a cool living area, day and night. For those that absolutely must have air conditioning, we now have optional air conditioning/cooling in the bedrooms, but we encourage you to try this purpose-built system for the first night and experience the natural cool air and sounds of nature.
