Villa Anggrek

Surrounded by coconut palms, rice terraces and tropical trees, our  Villa Anggrek  is situated between the two villages Kelabang-Moding and Abangan. A beautiful oasis of silence.

Although we are about 5km from Ubud, originally formed as a small community of painters and artists and still the cultural center of Bali, you will not find any hectic tourism at  Villa Anggrek. Around our villa the island's traditional farmer's life is still alive.
Today Ubud itself is dominated by many varied art galleries, shops and restaurants. But friends of exotic cultures can find numerous opportunities to watch the traditional and famous Balinese dances such as Baris, Jauk, Legong or Calon Arang, or may take part in one of the several temple ceremonies that occur throughout the year.

A walk from our house along on romantic paths, accompanied by a bubbling river, where much of life's daily activities occur will take you past rice terraces that appear to be formed by an artist's hand.

This will open your heart once more to the beauty of Bali. Such a stroll with attentiveness, also for the small things is good for your mind, spirit, soul and your heart, ... it is just like meditation.

Accommodation

Villa Anggrek accommodation consists of the four spacious double rooms, each with their own unique, open-style bathroom and water feature. Two of the rooms are within the main villa, one of which may be converted from a Queen size bed to two singles. The other two charming rooms built in traditional Balinese style, are set amid the babbling stream and lush vegetation. Each is endowed with a special view and enough privacy without feeling isolated.

As the villa name implies, anggrek are the theme throughout the property and each room is coordinated in an anggrek colour. Aromatherapy oil burners are placed in your room at night with a selection of oils available.

Anggrek Kuning

Anggrek Kuning Guest Room – set over the stream, this traditional wooden room has its own verandah, where you can listen to the trickle of water while sipping your morning coffee. It provides a perfect opportunity to catch up on some reading or rest.

Anggrek Orange

Anggrek Orange  Guest Room – Accessed by large stepping stones, Anggrek Orange has stunning views on two sides into the abundant garden and you may wish to feed the Koi fish from your verandah just before dusk – they will be waiting!!

Anggrek Ungu

Anggrek Ungu Guest Room – overlooks the Koi pond and valley and is bathed in a golden glow by the setting sun. From here you can see over the swimming pool to the mountains beyond. As with all the guest rooms, it has its own unique water feature bathroom

Anggrek Merah Muda

Anggrek Merah Muda Guest Room – Either a Queen size bed or two singles are available for Anggrek Merah Muda. Located under the main villa roof, it is easily accessible to the main lounge, dining and kitchen areas, swimming pool and Bale Bengong.

Massage

Perhaps a traditional or therapeutic massage will help to ease away your stress, followed by a fragrant flower bath? Ginger tea anyone?

Flower Bath

Radiance realigns the body's natural energy channels. A speciality is the 1,000 Petal Flower Bath (yes, there's space for water too) which can be enjoyed in your own bath with some fragrant essential oils on the side.

Meditation & Yoga

If you feel inclined, you may wish to join in some meditation or basic yoga conducted in the Meditation Bale, to the accompaniment of running water, guaranteed to bring you peace of mind.

Housekeeping & Aminities

Housekeeping:

House services are flexible to suit your needs between the hours of 7am and 7pm

Laundry service is available at a nominal cost and dry cleaning can be arranged in Ubud for a little extra.

Turn-down service is provided at 6pm each evening

Shampoo and shower gel are provided free of charge and a hairdryer is available on request

Two lightweight bathrobes are available in each room

Bath, hand and face towels can be found in your bathroom and pool towels available on request

Amenities:

A 42” LCD Satellite TV and DVD player are available in the main living room with a selection of DVDs, CDs and iPod docking station for use during your stay. The satellite coverage includes many familiar channels.

Use the 12m x 4m salt water overflow swimming pool, a selection of inspiring books to borrow while you stay, a fully equipped kitchen, huge refrigerator, and cooking utensils are available.

Electricity is 220volts with outlets of the round, two-pin variety

It's up to anybodies imagination, what paradise is supposed to be. All we found at  Villa Anggrek was very close to our idea of paradise. Inner balance plays an important part in Bali. Here we've found it. Thanks a lot,  Gerhard Waldner, for your hospitality, that you even shared with us on private holidays like Christmas and birthday. All those exotic breakfast variations, delicious fruit juices and all the other attentiveness are unforgotten. As we write these lines we feel melancholy - or better let's say homesickness for Villa Anggrek and all those lovely people, who are living and working there. We hope- we'll see you soon!

The two bungalows are placed marvellous, very large and equipped on high standard.
